Look to the West by NekoFlameAlchemist Look to the West by NekoFlameAlchemist
Went with my relatives and parents to a Buddhist temple in Australia to pray. It was such a beautiful place that I couldn't resist taking a few photos.

The pagoda in the background is where the ashes of the deceased are laid to rest. I was told that people have to pay more money the higher up they want the ashes to be placed, and also that it's more money to place ashes on the West side as this is the direction that the Monkey god and the priest travelled towards to collect the scriptures that Buddha had placed for them.

The angle of this shot complements the architecture very well! You have inspired me to try something similar when I go to a temple next time! Thanks

I'm really glad how this one came out.
I can safely say that there aren't Buddhist temples like that in the UK... at least not that I have visited :o

That is beautiful.
And as a fan of Saiyuki, and the Journey to the West in general, this makes me all kinds of happy.

Ah you know Journey to the West? Awesome! Not too many people know about that over here in the UK :(
So, in turn, I'm happy too - someone else knows about the stories that I grew up with :)

I've been trying to experiment more with angles. I decided that the earlier photos in my gallery were too bland... and well.. yeah XDD
So I hope something like this makes up for the old pap! XD

Thanks for the :+fav: :D
